Some days just call for more kitchen time. With rain in the forecast daily for most of the week, I decided to make a few extra things- snacks for protein as well as deliciousness.

Deviled Eggs
I have also heard these referred to party eggs and my Granny calls them dressed eggs. Whatever you call them, they are a nice addition to any meal, make a yummy snack, and are my egg variety preference for breakfast. I don’t have a recipe because I steam different numbers of eggs (though it’s usually one dozen). My egg tray holds 8 whole eggs. Add mayo (I like this seed-oil free version), a touch of mustard (we love this homemade recipe), and salt/pepper to taste. That’s it! There are many different versions out there and I don’t always add mustard, but this is one way to make them!

Protein Bagels
No, these don’t look like bagels, do they? I tried them with holes twice and decided we like them better solid! Quick, easy, and versatile, these buns are a hit! We have used them for sandwiches, as toast, or even as mini pizzas. Yum!

Sausage Balls
I have written a post about protein snacks in the past and included sausage balls. However, now that I use exclusively freshly milled flour, I had to find a recipe that wasn’t too dry or horribly crumbly to please my family. This version is a hit! Makes lovely treats every time. This particular night, we ate breakfast for supper, and the sausage balls made the meal complete.
