Decorating- CHRISTMAS

Tis the season to be jolly! We sure love decorating for Christmas. This year we took two days to get our things put up- the first day was for general decor, the second day was for our trees! We have artificial trees. Though we love real ones, we continue using these and enjoy them every year!

My ten year old helped get fall things from up high and dust for me.

Whew! All of our autumn decor is down!

Add a little here…

A nativity there…

Our new wee table in place and decorated also! And yes- I add blue and white at Christmas too!

Tiny tree…

Our little round tree…

And, our large tree! I added Christmas to the cabinet as well! Note my less-than-traditional star at the top. We were out a few lights toward the top when this photo was taken.

Our very simple mantle decor this year… note only two stockings. The kids’ stockings hang on a primitive peg rack near the hearth.

I enjoy adding tiny trees here and there! Can you spot them? Also: dried oranges, cinnamon pieces, and bells.

And, finally, this is my collection of Christmas trees and a special Orchard House print that my sister brought back from Massachusetts for me! It is an original Louisa May Alcott recipe.

How are you decorating this season?

Welcome to
Honey and the Hen!

Currently I don’t have any bees (or honey). We do have meat chickens now – yay!
And we also recently purchased 20 laying pullets. I live with my Sweet Husband and 3 kids in Central Illinois. I love homesteading, homemaking, and homeschooling. We are thankful to be saved by grace in Jesus and seek to follow Him and His Word. I am originally from Tennessee and one of six children, using much of my upbringing in what I do and love now. I enjoy learning, growing, and keeping my home with enthusiasm as unto the Lord. We garden and hope to raise more of our own food as we can. Thanks for stopping by!
