Decorating- AUTUMN

Decorating- AUTUMN

September is here!! Fall is the favorite season of many people. The smells, the colors, the tastes, the traditions…. The kids and I always enjoy swapping out decor in the home. As I’ve mentioned many times before, I keep most things very simple. But, the subtle changes definitely make us smile.

The open shelving in our kitchen. Such an enjoyable place to decorate. But also utilitarian. Recognize the new apple print and pumpkin creamer?

A favorite piece given to me by a precious friend! Every day dishes and my copper pieces. Dried weeds. The bread board was a gift from my sister-in-law, who shares my love of old things.

Artwork by my ten year old. Dried weeds. Pretty calendar. Bible verse.

Bits of autumn here and there. A new egg basket.

Entryway. Pillow, handmade by my mother-in-law. Old washboard. Woven chair. Blacks, browns, and oranges.

This basket was once green. I painted it several coats of white. This season it holds my white pitchers, odd sizes. Faux leaves.

The inside of my china cupboard. Most things didn’t shift much- I just added autumn into the pieces of white.

What things do you enjoy in autumn? If you find pleasure in decorating, feel free to post ideas or pictures below. I’d love to see.

Looks great! Thanks for pointing out the Hobby Lobby finds – it was fun to see them hiding in the pic! I’ll spare you a photo of our mantle… still decorated for Spring, with some books and other bits moved up high to keep away from the toddler… 😉

Welcome to
Honey and the Hen!

Currently I don’t have any bees (or honey). We do have meat chickens now – yay!
And we also recently purchased 20 laying pullets. I live with my Sweet Husband and 3 kids in Central Illinois. I love homesteading, homemaking, and homeschooling. We are thankful to be saved by grace in Jesus and seek to follow Him and His Word. I am originally from Tennessee and one of six children, using much of my upbringing in what I do and love now. I enjoy learning, growing, and keeping my home with enthusiasm as unto the Lord. We garden and hope to raise more of our own food as we can. Thanks for stopping by!
