We have come to the final challenge of April. How has this felt for you? Enjoyable? Dreaded? If you have found this to be helpful, let me know and maybe I can do something similar another time!
CHALLENGE V: read something. Maybe you are already a reader. Or perhaps you used to be a reader and got out of the habit. We read things constantly without even knowing it. But, this challenge is for something bigger! Read a book. Read a longer article. Read an in-depth magazine.
Here are some ideas to help get your juices flowing:
- a classic book (Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Mark Twain…)
- a read aloud chapter book with your family (see my previous related post!)
- a larger magazine with articles (By Faith, Homesteading Monthly, Tabletalk)
- Choose a subject that is pertinent to your situation at this present time and find longer articles (homeschooling, gardening, deeper faith issues)

Wow! Is this the hardest one yet? It definitely requires time, doesn’t it? However, we make time for what we find important. All of us do! We each get the same 24 hours. You may need to shuffle things to make reading time. Put down the phone, and pick up the book. Take the book with you as you wait in the pick up line at school. Set aside time after supper for only reading. You can do it! Make it a priority. Reading is something we need in our daily lives. Dig deeper. Stretch. Challenge yourself!
Let us know what you chose to read below in the comments! Thanks for doing this challenge with me!
