APRIL- Challenge II

APRIL- Challenge II

Hello again! It’s time for another challenge!

CHALLENGE II: write to someone! Whether you are a card person or letter person, write! It is sad how in our day the letter has become ‘lost’. Do you ever get snail mail? If so, you know what JOY a piece of mail in the mailbox can be!

Make someone’s day by taking the time to sit and write to them. Even a postcard! My Sweet Husband and I are both mail senders. I told him when we got married he would have to keep me supplied in stamps! 🙂 He likes ordering stamps from USPS so that we get a fun variety occasionally. Your materials need not be anything specific- just some notebook or typing paper and a pen!

Struggling with WHAT to write about? Here are a few suggestions that may help:

  • your day- a sort of diary entry with all the funny details
  • a memory you share with the recipient
  • a favorite quote or Bible verse
  • a joke
  • give a book review of a recent book you’ve enjoyed (even a cookbook!)
  • what have you enjoyed lately?

I hope this helps to jump start you with your writing! Have kids? Get them involved! Send one large envelope with a note from everyone in your family OR each of you write to someone different. Use colorful pens or pencils for added flare.

Our oldest daughter LOVES to send mail! Her excitement is contagious when she sees the mail carrier pulling up to our mailbox (especially if she is outside within their earshot)! She loves to put letters in the box and put the flag up all by herself. (She is sitting at her desk writing a letter to her Sunday school teacher as I type this!)

Precious! It’s such a lost art yet what a thrill it gives people to receive mail! Better than a gift!

Welcome to
Honey and the Hen!

Currently I don’t have any bees (or honey). We do have meat chickens now – yay!
And we also recently purchased 20 laying pullets. I live with my Sweet Husband and 3 kids in Central Illinois. I love homesteading, homemaking, and homeschooling. We are thankful to be saved by grace in Jesus and seek to follow Him and His Word. I am originally from Tennessee and one of six children, using much of my upbringing in what I do and love now. I enjoy learning, growing, and keeping my home with enthusiasm as unto the Lord. We garden and hope to raise more of our own food as we can. Thanks for stopping by!
