Farm Addition: Our Kitten

About a month ago our older (16 year old?) cat passed away. Sweet Husband had told the kids that we would get another kitten after she died. We found out that our local shelter had some kittens. SO…. We went and adopted one.

Meet Abel! He is 12 weeks old and has very soft, long gray and white hair. He is already very playful and we hope he will get along well with our 4 year old cat (Leroy) and our puppy, Meg. You may notice that his eye looks cloudy. He had an eye infection as a tiny kitten, was treated, and is completely healed. He has no trouble seeing- it just looks cloudy to us.

Welcome to the farm, Abel!

Welcome to
Honey and the Hen!

Currently I don’t have any bees (or honey). We do have meat chickens now – yay!
And we also recently purchased 20 laying pullets. I live with my Sweet Husband and 3 kids in Central Illinois. I love homesteading, homemaking, and homeschooling. We are thankful to be saved by grace in Jesus and seek to follow Him and His Word. I am originally from Tennessee and one of six children, using much of my upbringing in what I do and love now. I enjoy learning, growing, and keeping my home with enthusiasm as unto the Lord. We garden and hope to raise more of our own food as we can. Thanks for stopping by!
