What have you been about this spring-y month of April?

I was able to prune our fruit trees and bushes a bit… although I’m very inexperienced at this. I was thrilled to see blossoms on some trees we’ve not yet collected fruit from in the past.

I have been baking with freshly milled flour almost exclusively lately! Some learning curves as I have had some ups and downs with my previous mill, but I am tickled with how things are baking up.

Another pruning project, this lavender was more like a bush with a trunk! Hoping it thrives this summer.

Home canned beans have become a staple for us! I am thankful I could can two batches this month- one of black beans (pints) and one of baked beans (quarts). As you can see, one jar didn’t even leave its ring on the lid. So, it got used right away.

Another milling project, I made cornmeal with some of our homegrown Glass Gem popcorn. It made lovely cornbread. Mm!

Repotted tomato seed starts!

Freshly cut hyacinths (smelled amazing) and some older blown eggs make a sweet table centerpiece for Easter/spring.

A new spring dress. Sweet Husband said it reminded him of a plate… love!

Some flower bed perennial growth coming along!

And finally, from today- chicken and stock cooking for many days’ worth of delicious meals!
What has your April held? I hope you’re getting your hands dirty! May you seek the true reason for our purpose in LIFE with the coming of Easter and the resurrection of our Rescuer, Jesus Christ! He is risen!
