TODAY- December Edition

A lovely home day… ah… and in the Christmas season.

Looking back through old planners to review my previous ‘Words of the Year’. I choose one each January 1st. A precious, life long friend of mine introduced me to it and it’s a ‘must’ every year. I record them at the beginning of my planners- nice place for record keeping! It’s fun looking back through them- like diaries!

We began a puzzle! It’s a bigger one than we’ve worked before- 750 pieces. I love the laundry line.

Baking day! I was able to grind some flour and bake one loaf and 9 rolls. I also coarsely ground some wheat berries for homemade ‘cream of wheat’. We will try it soon!

Hot cider and wrapped packages! One kiddo has requested pancakes for Christmas so… we will have them tonight for supper! I’ll add some sausage links and cooked apples. Yum!

Merry Christmas!! To God be the glory!!

Welcome to
Honey and the Hen!

Currently I don’t have any bees (or honey). We do have meat chickens now – yay!
And we also recently purchased 20 laying pullets. I live with my Sweet Husband and 3 kids in Central Illinois. I love homesteading, homemaking, and homeschooling. We are thankful to be saved by grace in Jesus and seek to follow Him and His Word. I am originally from Tennessee and one of six children, using much of my upbringing in what I do and love now. I enjoy learning, growing, and keeping my home with enthusiasm as unto the Lord. We garden and hope to raise more of our own food as we can. Thanks for stopping by!
